Helper IIIPower BI inside Microsoft Fabric
sorry for this simple and stupid question... I am working the Power BI inside Microsoft Fabric (Not Power BI Desktop). How do I create New Column and New Measure?
To add a measure or a column to a table in a semantic model from web (not from desktop). You can follow these steps
1. Within in the workspace where your semantic model is hosted, hover over the model from the list
2. Click on the three dots menu, then click on 'Open semantic model'
3. On the top right, make sure you are in 'Editing' mode.4. On the right hand menu, select on the table where you want to create the measure or a column
5. Right click on the table and you will find an option to create a measure or a column
6. You will find the same options in the top menu as well

thiamhuat2026why I do not have the New Column? It seems limited.

I guess you seamantic model storge mode is "Direct Lake" if yes then you cannot create a calculated column.
You need to get the column in the upstream

No problem.
do note, Microsoft is planning to bring "calculated columns" and "calculated tables" functionality soon as per their April release notes. however would be a preview feature for some time. It is not rolled out to all the tenants yet. However I would not recommend a preview feature for production reports.
