Power BI Service refresh completed without errors, but new records not loaded.
Hi everyone,
I’m facing a strange issue with a dataset in Power BI Service (Import Mode).
Today morning, I refreshed the report the refresh completed successfully without any errors. However, 3 new records from the source table were not appearing in the report, even though they were present in the dataset.
After a few hours, I refreshed again, and the 3 new records appeared as expected.
Has anyone experienced a similar delay in data reflection after a successful refresh?
Details:
Connection type: Import Mode
Data source: SQL Server
No gateway or credential issues
Refresh completed without errors
Appreciate any insights or suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Nagesh016 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum and giving clarifying. Also thank you Shai_Karmani and DataVitalizer for your response.
If the data appeared only after several manual refreshes and a delay of a few hours, it’s probably not just a report-level cache issue. Such delays are often due to background service processing sometimes the Power BI Service takes extra time to commit and distribute refreshed data, especially during high usage or with complex datasets.
Since the refresh finished without errors, the dataset was updated, but the service may have needed more time to display the new data in the report. If this happens again, consider checking the dataset’s refresh history, looking into query folding, and making sure there are no downstream dependencies causing delays. Let us know if you see this issue again so we can investigate further.
Thank you.

Hi Nagesh016
Personally I’ve experienced something similar before even when a refresh completes successfully in Power BI Service (Import Mode), it can take a little time for the new data to show up in the report, this delay is often due to caching or how the service processes updates in the background.Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

Seen this. Dataset refreshed, report was serving cached query results. After cache expired, new data apeared!
Fixes to try:
hit Refresh on the report after the dataset refresh,
update the App if you use one,
consider disabling query result caching for this dataset, and if you use Incremental Refresh, enable "Get the latest data with DirectQuery."
Here is some info I find interseting about query caching:

If it helped please mark as resolved & give a kudo so others can find it too.

Even after multiple refreshes, the new records were still not showing up in the report. However, after about 3 to 4 hours, I tried refreshing again, and then the new records appeared. (I dont think its cache issue right ?)
