Hi everyone,
I have a requirement in Power BI Service regarding scheduled dataset refresh, and I’d like to confirm if this is feasible.
Requirement:
On Monday → Refresh at 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, and 9:00 AM
On all other days (Tuesday–Sunday) → Refresh at 4:00 AM and 4:00 PM
From what I understand, scheduled refresh allows setting multiple time slots, but I’m not sure if we can configure different refresh timings for different days within the same dataset.
Has anyone implemented something like this?
Is it possible directly within Power BI scheduled refresh settings?
Or would this require a workaround ?
Appreciate your insights!
Thanks in advance.

Hi @MFelix ,
Finally by adding my user in to the Active directory group which is given access to Create fabric items under Admin portal "Users can create fabric items" I'm able to create the pipeline.
Now I have created a pipeline and added 2 schedules for the same pipeline one is for monday and I schedule is for other days. Just take a look at it and let me know if it works.
Regards,
Kishor
Hi @Ramkishor ,
The permission made sense, I assumed that you were already part of the Creators in Fabric.
The setup looks correct now you just need to monitor, may I sugged to add a new activity to your pipeline to send you a message trough email or a teams message when it runs that way you may have notification about if it's running properly without need to go into the service.
Don't forget to accept the correct answer so it can help other even if it is yours.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsWhen I click on create advanced refresh option it is asking me to reassign my workspace to a trial capacity. Currently My workspace is running on F2 capacity . But as far as I know F2 capacity should also allow to create pipeline. But I'm confused why it is asking to reassign the workspace to fabric trial.

Kishor.
Hi @Ramkishor ,
This is really weird message the Create Advance Refresh is just a shortcut to the pipeline and the correct options.
To double check if you have an issue with your permissions/capacity can you try and create a new pipeline on the workspace directly insted of going trough the button on the semantic model?

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi @Ramkishor
As @MFelix I would go with Power Automate if you have a license, easy to setup and configure.
Hi @MFelix ,
I'm trying to use the create advance refresh option available for a semantic model. But I'm ending up with the below error. Please let me know how to get rid of this error. FYI the workspace is in F2 capacity.
Hi @Ramkishor ,
If you are using a F2 capacity then the one you should use is this and you must create two different pipelines one for the Monday option and another the the other days.
What is the error you are getting in the image you share there is no error just the selected option.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi @MFelix,
This is the error I'm getting. Basically We are fectching the data to fabric from Dynamics 365 finance and operations and we have 2 environments 1 for Test and 1 for production. The below error is for test environment.
This error is for live environment.
So My test environment workspace is running on trial UAE North region and My Live environment workspace is running on F2 Capacity UAE North. As per microsoft UAE North has ability to use all workloads of fabric.

Please let me know where it is going wrong.

Hi @Ramkishor ,
To my information using the schedulle refresh you cannot set different for each day you have two main options daily where you can setup the time(s) that you want the refresh or weekly but even for weekly you can only set the time for the days select to always be the same.
One option that you can check is to set up a Power Automate flow

If you are on Fabric capacity then you can create a Pipeline that would allow you to do this type of schedulling since an option there is the refresh of semantic models.
