Power BI Premium workspace loading slower than Pro

Hello, I'm working on a project that utilizes a combination of Power Apps, Excel, and Power BI. The user inputs data into Power Apps, calculations are done in Excel, and the data is sent to Power BI for visuals. In our Premium workspace, the Power BI dashboard visuals take forever to load (sometimes >5 mins); however when we change the workspace to Pro, the visuals load immediately. Our team wants the Premium workspace to allow for 48 refreshes daily, but only the Pro version is loading in a timely manner. Does anyone know why this loading issue may be occurring, and if there is a workaround? Thanks!

FWIW our Excel source file is in a shared drive folder (not in Sharepoint since that loading time was too long regardless of workspace).

Hi @jblossfeld012 ,

It seems your premium capacity need to be optimised (Memory and CPU contraints) to support the load.

This may be due to the long queue time for refreshing datasets in Premium's workspace during the same time period. In short, is the number of parallel refreshes too much?

Or you may try upgrading your workspace from premium gen1 to premium gen2 because in Generation 2, the allocation of the RAM happens per dataset. Therefore, there will be significantly fewer bottlenecks in the RAM in the future. The new system looks schematically like this:

Which means there's no limit on the number of concurrent dataset refreshes.
