Power BI Online refresh: "MySQL: Fatal error encountered during data read."

I have a couple of datasets that are set to automatically refresh on the Power BI website. These were built in desktop and published. I keep on having an error like the following:

[ValidateMarkupTags]{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"[ccon]MySQL: Fatal error encountered during data read.[/ccon]"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourceKind","detail":{"type":1,"value":"MySql"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourcePath","detail":{"type":1,"value":"[ccon][ccon]111.111.111.1111</ip>[/ccon]<ip><ip>111.111.0.0</ip></ip>table[/ccon]"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.ErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"[ccon]Fatal error encountered during data read.[/ccon]"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Reason","detail":{"type":1,"value":"DataSource.Error"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: table watch_events.

Any idea what I can do?

Hi. A mashup error usually means that there is a problem with the transformations. I would probably open the power bi desktop and look for errors. Desktop will probably run the refresh correctly, but there is an error at the rows that Service won't allow, that's why I would look for errors like filtering by error at rows or warnings after refresh.

I hope that helps,

No, never did. I have a lot of data that probably isn't the cleanest though, so I'm planning on trying to clean it up before it gets to Power BI and see if that helps. If you find another solution, let me know!

Ure, will do!
