Power BI Embedded SKU features
Hi Anonymous - The A4 SKU is part of Power BI's A-series capacities, which are primarily designed for Power BI Embedded scenarios. These SKUs provide most of the features available in the P-series (Premium) SKUs.
So, while A4 SKU has many premium features, it does not allow free users to access shared content internally without a Pro license. If you need unlimited sharing within your organization, a P SKU would be the better choice.
Premium Features: A4 SKUs include many of the same features as P SKUs, such as advanced AI capabilities, paginated reports, and the ability to handle large datasets. However, A SKUs do not offer unlimited content sharing. Users consuming content via an A SKU still need a Power BI Pro license to access shared content.
Embedding for External Users: A SKUs are popular for embedding Power BI content into custom applications, particularly for external users. In this case, viewers don’t need a Power BI Pro license, but the embedding must be configured specifically for this purpose (e.g., embedding for your customers).
License Requirement for Internal Sharing: If you're using A SKUs for internal sharing (like dashboards or reports within your organization), each user still needs a Power BI Pro license. This differs from P SKUs, where internal users can access shared content without requiring individual Pro licenses.
