Power BI Documentation

Hi,

I'm currently putting together documentation for one solution owner in my organisation regarding the Power BI service and how datasets are stored in the Power BI service. I've read the following documentation from Microsoft:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-power-bi-security

Should I interpret the following sentence ("data that is uploaded from users is typically sent to Azure BLOB storage, and all metadata as well as artifacts for the system itself are stored in Azure SQL Database".) as all of the data that I "download" to Power BI desktop and then publish to the Service is stored in Azure BLOB storage?

Many thanks!

  • Hello SEMattis

    Yes, you are right!

The bellow statement form the given document satisfies your interpretation.

Power BI uses two primary repositories for storing and managing data: data that is uploaded from users is typically sent to Azure BLOB storage, and all metadata, as well as artifacts for the system itself, are stored in Azure SQL Database.

    Regards,
