In a Power BI Dataflow's M-script or in the exported json the version field is visible following the entity. Does anyone know how this is used or if it is just a future placeholder?

I am curious the purpose for this and if it can be used in anyway to document/control the update versions of the dataflow
Hi @rmsolfest
In power query, the version appears to be a reference to a source but the dataflow.
As far as I know, in Json, the field is optional but highly encouraged as it causes most JSON editors to add auto-completion and doc tips to help you author the file.
