Poewr BI Tenant migration
Hi Team,
We are currently working on a Power BI tenant migration from INFY to TATA.
Current Architecture:
All users (INFY : [email protected], TATA : [email protected]) are in the Infy tenant.
Their OneDrive/SharePoint/Databricks and Power BI reports are in the INFY tenant.
We have both Pro and Premium workspaces in the INFY tenant.
Migration Plan:
Users and their SharePoint/OneDrive will move to the TATA tenant.
Power BI reports will remain in the INFY tenant.
In the current workspace in Infy tenant,
e.g for the workspace ABC, manage access the user is [email protected].
After the migration, his email id will be same.
Question:
After migration, in the workspace ABC, should i change the email to TOM_tataholdings.com#EXT#@MyTATA.onmicrosoft.com
so that he can access the reports in INFY tenant.
Any suggestion/thougts please.
Note : Pic attached is from Infy tenant. also we are using B2B collabration beween tenants.
EXT# - This is B2B guest identity created from TATA tenant when he was invited to INFY tenant.
[email protected] -> This is native INFY account, before migration.
Thanks,
Hi YashikaAgrawal ,
Thank you for engaging with the Microsoft Fabric Community. This is a common scenario during tenant migrations.
After the migration, the old account [email protected] (previously a native user in the INFY tenant) is no longer valid there. The user is now identified only by their guest account.
TOM_tataholdings.com#EXT#@MyTATA.onmicrosoft.com.To ensure continued access to Power BI reports in the INFY tenant, please update the workspace permissions from [email protected] to the guest account.
This is standard behavior when users move to a new tenant while reports remain in the original tenant.
If you need any further information, please let us know.
Thanks,
Yugandhar
