MS Fabric migration between tenants
Hi everyone,
I need some help migrating all the Fabric environment (workspaces, PWBI, lakehouses, warehouses, OneLake content, connections, and gateways) between tenants, as the old and new tenants are on different AADs.
I found some documentation about workspaces, but I'm not sure how to migrate lakehouses, warehouses, OneLake content, and connections securely and quickly, without doing it manually and following the best practices.
Do you have any experience or documentation that could help me?
Hello Nannyhg
there is no direct method to do tenant to tenant migration in a fully automated way.
Creata a new ws in New teanant and Git integration to sync artifacts to new workspace:
some users have suggested to modify this git script (this is for copy ws automatically )https://github.com/Microsoft/powerbi-powershell/blob/master/examples/CopyWorkspaceSampleScript.ps1
Tenant-to-tenant migrations often involve manual steps due to limited native support for cross-tenant transfers of certain components like gateways or live connections
Recreating configurations such as security settings or scheduled refreshes may require additional effort.
A great discussion here , woth reading
