Particular slicer selection in URL? (NOT filtering)
I have a report with a synced slicer that's on each page. I want to send someone a link to this report with the slicer already set to 'Canada' - on each page with the synced slicer. Can I do this?
I've tried URL filtering but this is not what I want - I want just the slicer to be currently selected to something (they can clear the selection after if they want). URL filtering means they can't easily get back to the unfiltered state of the report. Using a bookmark looked ideal, but I can't find a way to put it in the URL a bookmark that applies to all pages straightaway.
You'd like to keep the slicer in the report whenever users access it rather than share to others with the slicer, right?
You can enable this option in desktop: and select the slicer before publish to service:
Then user can view the filtered report, and they can also change the slicer to view other data, but they can't save the change.

v-diye-msft That is true - I essentially want to do that simply for all the existing permissioned users for the report. I don't have a more precise audience than simply that.
It looks like if I use that, I need to manually choose people for who that link will work for? I don't want to have be sharing the report AND then remember to update those 'slicer sharing' access each time, so that the link will work for them if they want to use it.
Actually I've just now tried to use 'share report with current slicer selection'.
I have a 2-page report with the same slicer on each page (synced).
I shared the report with a particular slice value in this slicer, but when the user clicks on the link they get from the sharing, it only has the slicer value for the page I was on when I did the share - not BOTH the pages. Is this a bug?
