Activator crashes when selecting Property Filter

We have an Activator item with many rules that were working as expected, but now when we try to add a new rule or modify a existing one, the activator page crashes when choosing a value in Property Filter. I can open the combobox to view the options, but as soon as I click in one of the options, the entire Rule Detail section turns into the message "There is an error with the definition".

Could it be a problem with my configuration or is it a internal problem with Activator?

In the next day, without me changing anything in Activator, I finally managed to edit the Rule configurations without any crashes.

My guess is that there was some internal problem with Activator and Microsoft solved it soon after.

Anyway, thanks for your inputs Anonymous

    Hi Anonymous ,

Thank you for reaching out to Mircrosoft Fabric Community Forum.

Issue might be with the below cases:

    • Internal bug or validation issue with Activator’s rule builder, possibly triggered by recent changes or updates.
    • Attribute schema mismatch ,the selected attribute might have changed behind the scenes (e.g., type mismatch, missing metadata).
    • UI component issue, the rendering logic fails when trying to populate the value-type selector or validate the rule dynamically.

Please try the below workarounds which might help to resolve the issue:

    1. Clear cache and try again, which can rule out temporary UI glitches.
    2. Test with a different attribute, does the crash happen with all attributes or only certain ones?
    3. Recheck the attribute schema, ensure the field hasn’t been renamed, removed, or had its data type changed.

If the issue still persists, I’d recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft. The support team can look into the backend and provide more in-depth assistance tailored to your environment.
