Occupy different data sets in Service PBI

Dear All!

Pls I need your help.

I have two projects published in the Power BI service, but I need to know how I can use the dataset from Project 1 in Project 2. My project 1 is very large and constantly uploading data slows down the automated reload process.

Regars.

  • Hi rod_puente  Follow these steps to integrate Project 1 Dataset into your Project 2 Dataset

    1. Open your Data Model of your Project 2

    2. Navigate to Get Data -> Power BI Semantic Models

    3. You would be prompted to get Add a Local Model, Click on it

    4. Locate and Select your Project 1 Dataset, choose the required columns and table. Click Submit

Hope it Helps ! Appreciate a Kudos !

    Thanks,

    Hi rod_puente,

Yes, it is possible to utilize the dataset from Project 1 in Project 2 without the need to reload or duplicate the data. Power BI supports shared datasets, which allow you to build reports in one project using a dataset published in another. To achieve this, open Power BI Desktop for Project 2, navigate to Get Data > Power BI Datasets, and select the dataset from Project 1. This approach enhances performance and ensures data consistency by relying on a single, centralized dataset. Please ensure that you have the necessary permissions and that both projects reside in the same workspace, or appropriate access is granted across workspaces.
