New Card Visual: Callout Value Automatically Turns On After Publishing

I’m experiencing a strange issue with the new card visual in Power BI.

In Power BI Desktop, I turn off the callout value, and it stays off just fine. But after I publish the report to the Power BI Service, the callout value is automatically turned back on—even though it still shows as turned off in the Desktop version.

This only started happening over the past weekend (it was working normally as of Friday). I'm wondering if there was a recent update that might've caused this?

Thanks,

Jane

Hi @Jun_Wang ,

Thanks so much for reporting this issue.
The behavior you are experiencing is where the callout value appears enabled in the Power BI Service despite being turned off in Power BI Desktop. It is not expected and has been confirmed as a known issue. This regression began over the past weekend and is currently affecting visuals like the new Card visual, as well as potentially others that support callout values.
The team is actively investigating the issue, we will be sure to share any updates as soon as a fix is deployed. We truly appreciate your patience and for bringing this to our attention.

If this helps, consider accepting it as solution.

Regards,
Pallavi G.

Can't believe this is how Power BI is evolving... Pushing things to PRD without proper testing. Unacceptable from a product of this size.

Yeah, I'm seeing this too, all my callouts with callout values turned off are switched to on but only in the service.

I will note I am using .PBIR as well I wonder if that's related.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your update. Wasn't sure to post here or create a new thread, but I am facing the same issue with the tile slicer visual. Callout Values are turned off in Desktop, but when publishing to Service the Callout Values are displayed in the App.

Regards,

Gareth

My SVG works fine this time—just the callout value is playing up. Thanks for the info 🙂
