Need help to troubleshoot the dataset refresh issue in Power BI service

Hi All,

I have a PowerBI dashboard report that has been implemented for a business unit and it is currently set up to refresh it’s data on a half hourly basis throughout the day. We have experienced periodic issues when the data refresh has failed (and I have notification emails set up to go the business unit) and this is causing some risk to the business unit as the reports are not refreshing timely and data is not current. We are reaching out to request your guidance in what the proper steps the business should be taking when  a refresh  process fails. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

There are so many reasons why a refresh might fail. The best place to start investigating is to go to the dataset's refresh history and download the csv file detailing the error. 

Download a few of these to see if it's always the same root cause or if you have a variety of failure points.
