I have one simple report page tooltip in my Power BI. It works fine on desktop, but when I upload it, it hangs with the message "Loading Report Page Tooltip". On the first page the tool tip is fine, but on pages 2 and 3 it hangs, if I change the slicers or something else on the service then the tooltip appears fine, but this obviously isn't ideal for end users.
Can anyone help?
We have also suddenly started experiencing this issue, exactly as previously descibed by a good number of other posters in this thread. Looking forward to what I hope is resolution on Sep 30th @v-zhouwen-msft
I have the same issue, the tooltips have been working fine before and I haven't changed anything. Applying slicers, makes the tooltip work once, then you have to reapply new slicers. I can see the caluclations working behind, it's just the rendering part thats get stuck.
Same here! We had working report and now it looks like our tooltip is to heavy to load a 2 years date range.
Hi all ,thanks for the quick reply, I'll add more.
Hi @PeteAP ,
Regarding your question, is the performance problem of tooltips in Service similar to this? Thanks to Skyble for reminding me, I searched for related issues and similar situations are planned to be resolved on September 30th.

Thank you for the update @v-zhouwen-msft . Will this issue be added to the Fabric Known Issues tracker so we can better communicate the timing of the fix to our stakeholders?
for me it looks just like that, it loads the tooltip but the overlay stays on top of it.
I have the same issue. It does'nt just take a long time, it does not work at all.
Keeps on showing "Loading report page tooltip" for every tooltip after the first one.
This issue will be fixed next week, I've been told.
Hi, good morning Skyble. When you state so clear that will be fix next week is because you have information from Microsoft people or what is your source?
Thanks
Have a look at my post 🙂

We have the same bug on our end, it started out of the blue.
The tooltip loads behind, but the loading doesnt go away
Thanks

Hello,
Quite same case with me.
On the first page, the tooltip loaded just fine, however, as soon as I switch page or even click on a bookmark, it is loading endlessly like this.
It seems that this is a new issue, since a few days ago this was still not an issue.

Hi,
We are also facing the same issue where our tooltips hang with the message "Loading Report Page Tooltip." We've been using the same reports for the past 2 years, and everything was working fine until last week.
I hope Power BI resolves this issue ASAP.
Hi @PeteAP -Ensure that the tooltip pages are as simple and optimized as possible. Tooltips that pull in too much data or have complex visuals might take longer to load in Power BI Service compared to the Desktop version.Reduce Visuals: Try reducing the number of visuals on the tooltip page to see if that improves performance. Ensure only the necessary visuals are included.Disable and Re-enable Tooltips: Sometimes toggling the tooltip settings in Power BI Service can fix the issue.Go to your visuals → "Format" → "Tooltip" → disable it temporarily, save the report, and then re-enable it.Test Manual Tooltips: You can also try creating a manual tooltip by using a card or another simple visual to test if that displays properly.
Large page sizes for tooltips can sometimes delay rendering. You can change the tooltip's page size under Page Information to ensure it's compact and fits within the visuals.

This bug is still persisting today:
Usually occuring when a silcer / bookmark etc is selected....
We are still facing the exact same issue in PBI service/embedded - tooltips load all okay first time round then when a bookmark / slicer etc.. is applied all we get is 'Loading report page tool tip' and it hangs there. We have tried clearing cache / republishing reports etc and the issue still persists. This issue has been persistent for sometime now and is affecting customer reports in production and stopping further releases into production with customers now rightly so getting very annoyed over this. Is this issue being actively looked into and if so is it possible to get an idea on when a resolution will be released?
It is working fine in service , still facing issue with our embedded production report, Please let us know any way to resolve this
Same for us. Let my try to summarize what we noticed:
- At first, in Power BI Desktop custom tooltips loaded properly, while it failed in both Power BI Service and Power BI Embedded
- Since ~1 week, it's failing in Power BI Embedded only. Unfortunatly this is the exact way how we make use of it in our project
- We noticed that when switching from one report page to another and coming back to former page, it suddenly works. But not permanently, it's completely random when it starts failing again
Note that we're making use if it in concrete case for visual help buttons only. Developer tools are not showing any error. Tested with both Chrome and Edge browsers in their latest versions.
I had this same issue but it seems to be fixed as of this morning. Didn't make any changes at all to cause the issue and didn't change anything now that it is fixed seems to be something on the Bi side that caused it.
I've just checked on my report, seems fine now. It looks like they started to roll out an update with the fix across their servers.
