Icon Map Slicer - Any data privacy concerns?
- Anonymous4 years ago
Hi ab_sab ,
Certified Power BI visuals are Power BI visuals in AppSource that meet the Microsoft Power BI team code requirements. These visuals are tested to verify that they don't access external services or resources, and that they follow secure coding patterns and guidelines.
The certification process is optional. Power BI visuals that aren't certified, aren't necessarily unsafe. Some Power BI visuals aren't certified because they don't comply with one or more of the certification requirements. For example, a map Power BI visual connecting to an external service, or a Power BI visual using commercial libraries can't be certified.
The privacy policy of icon Map says:
Icon Map does not collect your data. Data is accessed for display purposes. The visual may make requests to external services to retrieve map tiles, images or GeoJSON layers as configured during setup.
You can further contact the Icon Map author to verify that the visual meets your organization's privacy requirements.
Best Regards,
Gao
