How do I share read access to a Dataflow?

I have created an App Workspace and published some of the reports within the Workspace using the 'Entire Organization' radio button in the Access tab for the App.

Next I have created a new Dataflow within the same workspace and I want to allow others to take advantage of the work  have done, but none of the other Pro users in the company can see the new Dataflow. I cannot find anywhere specific to the Dataflows that controls sharing or permissions. Please can someone advise me how I share read access to the Dataflow?

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on my test, you need to make sure your members in your workspace have edit permission that they could see the Dataflow:

Just grant the user Read access to the entire workspace. He can then see your dashboards and use the dataflows for his own charts but not alter them in the source workspace.

Hi Daniel,

Is this the only way? So, if I understand correctly, I need to give somebody member/edit rights to the App-Workspace in order to give them access to the Dataflows which are setup in the App-Workspace? This means they can also change the Dataflows in the App-Workspace, correct?

Thanks for your reaction.

Hilko

Hi @Hilko ,

No. Now, the Dateflows could not be modified by other users regards of the license of the users, it only could be modified by yourself.

This is incorrect.
An App workspace member can still go to the Settings page and "Take Over" the dataflow.
Would be great to share a Dataflow with other users without having to add them to the Workspace.

I had this situation recently and my solution was to grant the user VIEWER access to the workspace.  The user is able to connect to the dataflows in the workspace but not edit nor refresh them.

For all others reading this thread, this is the "correct" solution to this question, not the one from the Microsoft rep.

Thanks.
