Help with setting up scheduled refresh; issues with gateway/cloud connections

I am attempting to set up a scheduled refresh for one of my dashboards. It is pulling three CSV files that are refreshed automatically in sharepoint and has a connection to those three files. Shown in the screenshots below I cannot update my data credentials and it's only allowing me to see my data connections in the gateway. I do not have rights to download on premise data gateways onto this PC. How can I fix it so my credentials are valid and I can set up schedule refresh?

You are using individual Web connectors.  Don't do that. Use a single SharePoint Folder connector.

Hi @laurahoff97 ,

Thank you for reaching out in the Microsoft Fabric Community.
It looks like Power BI isn’t recognizing your SharePoint data source correctly, which is preventing you from updating credentials and setting up a scheduled refresh. Here are a few steps to help resolve this:

Since SharePoint is a cloud-based source, it should be properly mapped under Cloud Connections. To check this:

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Manage Connections and Gateways.
  2. Under Cloud Connections, check if your SharePoint data source is listed and correctly configured.
  3. If it's not configured correctly, try deleting the connection and creating a new one with the correct SharePoint site URL.

If the issue continues, resetting the SharePoint connection in Power BI Desktop might help:

  1. Open the report in Power BI Desktop.
  2. Go to Transform Data -> Data Source Settings.
  3. Select the SharePoint connection and click Edit Permissions.
  4. Make sure authentication is set to Organizational Account (OAuth2).
  5. Click OK, then Close & Apply.
  6. Republish the report to Power BI Service.

The suggestion to use the SharePoint Folder connector instead of individual Web connectors by @lbendlin is a great approach. It simplifies data management by allowing Power BI to pull all CSV files from a folder rather than connecting to each file separately. This method makes refreshes more reliable and reduces potential authentication issues.

If you’re currently using individual Web connectors for each file, it’s worth switching to the SharePoint Folder connector for a smoother experience.
