@Lorentz_ The specific error seems to be related to the Gateway not being able to communicate with the SQL Server, here is a good article of things to check between the servers where gateway is vs. SQL -> https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2340/resolving-could-not-open-a-connection-to-sql-server-erro...
You mention you are in a cloud, but I assume that means (Infrastructure as a Service) so I believe while the above is still relevant since you are using gateways etc. In any case, I would dig into it from the back end if nothing has changed on the front.
