Gateway Service Account
Hi,
what could be a reason to user AD Account for the Gateway Service instead of the local account configured by default.
Is clustering a reason?
To Access to Cloud content a other account ist anyway required.
If i use a AD Account for the service which permission are recommended?
Thx
Hey upfaffer ,
there are some situations where using the default gateway account is not sufficient, e.g. the data source requires Kerberos or the gateway account has to access your Active Directory. Accessing the AD becomes necessary if you are sourcing data from on-premises SQL Server Analysis Services.
In regards to permissions, the gateway account requires at least access to your AD. Depending on the needs of your data sources additional permissions might have to be applied.
Hopefully, this helps to provide additional insight.
Regards,
Tom
