Gateway Installation

I have installed On premise-data gateway ,and have connected to server for refresh of my report
where as every month it calls forupdation and refresh failed automaticall due to gateway ofline
do we need to update this every month?
can we create more then one connections i mean to say with different server from one gateway only?
One more thing like sometimes its get refreshed successfully but data is not showing properly ,i have to again refresh all in powerbi desktop in power query and then have to publish it,why is it so?how to come over this problem?

This could be due to gateway was down during refresh or having connectivity issue
Yes, you can add multiple node in same gateway cluster for high availability and better load balancing - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-high-availability-cluster... 

You can also add additional connections on same gateway as well

For inconsist data refresh, do make sure your source data is upto date before the refresh hits
