Failure Notice when sharing to External User

I am trying to share a dashboard with an external user but no matter what email I use, I get a Failure Notice reading "Failed to grant access". I have "share to external users" enabled in the Admin P...

Hey Anonymous ,

 

this document contains everything one has to know, to share content with external users: Distribute content to external guest users with Azure AD B2B - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

 

But you have to be aware that sharing content means these have to have a license (no matter if the user is internal or external).
There are just two ways of sharing content for free:

  1. using the function "Publish to web" but this is not recommended as the content can be accessed by everyone who knows the link.
  2. the content is hosted in an app, that is backed by a Premium per capacity license.
