Export SQL consult from Datamart to Excel File.

Hi Folks,

I have a problem

In recent months it has been possible to create SQL code in my Datamart and export my query result to Excel. But Now, I'm trying to do this again and the "button" to export to Excel seems like "not available" Does someone know what is happening?

    Anonymous and odorschner

I've got an update from Microsoft, They sad that the issue we are facing is a known issue and the product team is already working to solve it. ETA for the fix is 9th October,2023.

Meanwhile as a temp workaround in current phase, They suggested to Visualize the results in a report table and then click table visual export data to excel file.

Have anybody found a solution for this? Really strange problem... It used to work fine and somehow stopped.

Same problem here. Been like this for around 5 weeks. Disappointing and hopefully not a removal of a datamart feature post-introduction of fabric

      I have a temporary workaround:

      • build your view using the visual query in the datamart
      • once the view is functionnal clic the View SQL button : copy the query
      • open a new excel workbook
      • In Excel: Data / New Query / From Database / From SQL Server Database
      • Enter the Datamat SQL End point information (Server name / database name), il you do not know seach in Datamart settings / server settings (to know the database name you have to connect with a database browser tool like SSMS)
      • Paste the SQL query and import in the spreadsheet

      Hope its clear for everybody

Thanks odorschner! Indeed this is an effective workaround, I've been using a similar path pasting the queries in workbooks previously downloaded when the feature still worked. It works fine for me but is kind of a wall for bussiness units self service, since it requires some knowledge. I am expecting a feedback today from Microsoft support and will update any news here!

We have been experiencing this problem for the same time, I had a session yesterday with microsoft support and they got my browser logs to see if it's something in their backend. No solutions yet.
