Good morning
I built an app a while ago that the business have been using for well over a year / possibly two years and yesterday I started getting emails about refresh issues. I click on the Learn More button in the email and there's a page called Troubleshoot refresh scenarios but I can't find anything with the above message. The page is a bit overwhelming to be honest. Here are some more details from the generated email:
Failure details: The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.
Today is Wednesday 08:36 and I started getting these messages Tuesday 00:26 - the message says this is usually a transient issue. No users have started screaming yet so I do I set tight and wait for it to resolve itself? What can I do, can I have some guidance please? Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
You're encountering the error: "Exceeded the refresh request limit for this semantic model within the last 24 hours". This typically occurs when the number of refreshes for a dataset exceeds the allowed limit within a 24-hour period.
In Power BI:
Manual refreshes initiated via the Power BI Service or API count towards this limit. If multiple refresh attempts are made in quick succession, especially after failures, it's possible to hit this limit unintentionally. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
Feel free to provide more details about your dataset's size, refresh schedule, and whether you're using Pro or Premium capacity. This information can help in offering more tailored advice.
