Hi! I have Oracle Client 11 installed (and I can't change that) and I have been able to connect POWER BI to my Oracle Database by downloading the 32bit Power BI Desktop. However, when I try to set a data Gateway I receive the following error message:
Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.
Does anybody know if it is possible to set up a Data Gateway with a 32bit Oracle Client installed? Or any other way to automatically refresh data?
Thanks!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Power BI on-premises data gateway only has 64-bit version. It will not work if you are using the 32-bit Oracle client, unless you only want to get data from Oracle in Power BI Desktop and not publish to Power BI Service to schedule refresh.
So in your scenario, the solution is to get the permission to install the 64-bit Oracle client instead of the 32-bit one.
Best Regards,
Herbert

Hi
I have installed the 64 bit version but am getting the below error.
| An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.' |
Even when using desktop I have 64bit version.
Is there any other area I can look at in order to solve this issue.
Regards
