I am trying to set up a scheduled automatic update in Power BI, but it always gives me an error. What could be happening?
I get this error:
[ValidateMarkupTags][ccon]DataSource.Error: Microsoft SQL: [ccon]Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.[/ccon]. DataSourceKind = [ccon]SQL[/ccon]. DataSourcePath = [ccon]arredodwprodsrv.database.windows.net;arredodwprod[/ccon]. Message = [ccon]Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.[/ccon]. ErrorCode = [ccon]-2146232060[/ccon]. Number = [ccon]-2[/ccon]. Class = [ccon]11[/ccon]. State = [ccon]0[/ccon]. [/ccon]. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface.
Hi @nahuel_z ,
Depending on the error message, the connection times out or the service does not respond. Please check that the service name and credentials are correct. Whether the gateway is working properly. Or try to manually refresh if it works to further troubleshoot the issue.
Hope it helps!

Hi. The credentials are ok and the manual update works fine.
Hi @nahuel_z
What is the data source? how are you trying to update? Do you have a Gateway?

Hi. The data source is an Oracle data warehouse that I connect to via SQL. I am programming it from the Power BI app under File -> Semantic Model -> Refresh. It doesn't require a gateway since all its data sources are in the cloud.
