Error on Service not on Desktop

Has anyone come across an issue where the Desktop version of a dataset refreshes fine but the service version keeps failing?

I've got a dataset that has been refreshing every day for several months and today it has failed.

I've checked.

• The PBIX refreshes fine in Desktop, no errors
• I've tried refreshing the dataset on the Service several times and it keeps whinging. The table name can be different even to the point that AuditSubType doesn't exist at any stage in the M steps.
• I've tried publishing the dataset as a new version and it still errors.

Are you using an excel file in your dataset and does it have dyanmic column names or something adn you are removing columns in the query?

No it's SQL but either way the refresh succeeds in Power BI Desktop and fails in the Service (same source data).
