Entire "My Workspace" deleted on assignment of Pro license

I had a Power BI trial license which was downgraded to a free account that had multiple datasets, reports and dashboards. We haven't moved to Office 365 internally yet so I was running as an unmanaged tenant. My manager purchased a number of Pro licenses, one of which was applied to my account and added me to a new Organization.

On next log in, I found the entire workspace empty. I have backups of the reports, but because the newer ones are pointing at the workspace dataset I had as an unmanaged tenant, they are now useless.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Have a support case logged with Microsoft but it doesn't seem like there's anything they can do

I am wondering if you ever resolved the reasoning for this?  I am thinking the userid itself changed slightly in the purchase and the one you were using for trial?
