I'm working for a customer (building a PBI proof of concept) and getting errors while connecting to an Excel file in OneDrive business. I want to import the datamodel and build PBI reports and dashboards on top of that. The reason I don't use the Designer in this specific case is that we have also built an Excel pivot table report for this customer and need to use the same datamodel.
I have created a OneDrive group which I can access in Power BI as a workspace. So far so good. When I click on the little + sign to add a dataset I can select files in this OneDrive group (the Excel file I mentioned) and I can connect to it. Power BI shows me that the connection is succesful, and I can now see my new dataset and an empty sample dashboard.
The problem arises when I click on the dataset to open it and to create a report based on it. I get the following error:
The frase in light grey is in Dutch, it reads "cannot load the model".
I'm very very frustated by this error. I hope someone around here has an idea to work around?
With kind regards,
Bas Land
EDIT: If I upload the file to my own OneDrive folder (business, but not the OneDrive group) and connect from "my workspace" tp the datamodel, everything works. Is there some kind of bug in the group workspaces / Office 365 integration?
Hi,
There was a temporary problem loading dashboards in groups if those dashboards contained Pro content and you were a Pro Trial user.
We've since resolved this issue, so can you please try again and let us know if the problem is still occuring?
Sorry for the inconvenience -- I'm sure this was frustrating!
