Drill-down / KPI relation?

I am using the drill-down on a column chart, with a KPI using the same indicator as the chart's value field.

Drilling down affects the KPI's indicator only when clicking/selecting manually a specific column in the chart, which could be confusing as the 2 visuals no longer match when only a drill-down occurs.

I'm using both Power BI for Desktop and the web version.

Thoughts?

kalcey I believe I understand your question correctly... It sounds like you are describing the default behaviour that is expected. When you drill down in a visual, you aren't filtering any other visual. If you Drill into, by selecting a column to navigate to the next level only for that column, then the other visuals will be filtered down. Otherwise, all your doing is showing the same data set in a different level and therefor no filtering should occur.

      Hi Anonymous,

Right-clicking a column, and selecting 'Drill Down' limits the data in this chart to the content of the column, which leads to believe that 'filtering' took place.

Can you please elaborate more on the following, and explain how to filter other graphs, after showing the data in a different level? (I tried right-clicking then showing and expanding to the next level):

"If you Drill into, by selecting a column to navigate to the next level only for that column, then the other visuals will be filtered down."

      Thanks!
