Do I need to keep my computer running during scheduled refreshes for the personal gateway to work

I seen I need a personal gateway to schedule refreshes when using python with power bi my questions is do I need to keep my computer running during scheduled refreshes for the personal gateway to work? Or does it still work if I shut down my computer?

Hi @akhaliq7 ,

 

Yes, if you installed a PERSONAL gateway then the machine that the gateway is installed on MUST be on during those refresh times.  So, if you set the refresh times for late hours when you are not there, you will need to leave the computer on.  This is a good reason to set an Enterprise (or Standard) gateway on a server or other computer that is "always on" in your corporation.
