Hi all,
I want to disable the 'show data point as a table' option. I do not want to create a measure. For the bar chart I am using, I need only the columns, but that enables the 'show data point as a table' which I dont want. In the data/drill pane, I have turned it off.
Even in service it is turned off.
But even then I get that option
What can be done to turn it off. Nobody wants to see the underlying dataset. I am surprised that there is no official documentation to turn off this feature but only documentation explaining about it. I have spent hours to disable this option and am really shocked to see that there is no way to turn it off. We go to lengths to hide data to different users using RLS and by restricting access and here we have with one click of a button to see the whole dataset!!
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/end-user-show-data?tabs=powerbi-desktop#co...
Or if it cannot be turned off , is there a way to limit the columns displayed when 'show data point as a table' is clicked??
Have I missed something? Can you please help me out.
Thank you very much

Hi,
So i created measures for the columns that are aggregated in the visual. Seems using measures instead of columns is only solution at the moment. Or use a table visual that does not support this option. But it would be really nice if Microsoft can render a solution to this problem.
Atleast in service for users with viewer access should not have the 'show data point as a table' option. It can be made available in deskstop or in service for users with admin access but not for others.
