Directquery not supported by gateway?
Setup:
Dataflow- connects to 2 mysql servers to pull data from 3 total tables, each at =<1000 rows. Enhanced compute engine setting is On.
Report- uses above dataflow as a data source to pull in one table using the DIrectquery option. Currently the report has been reduced down to showing one tab with a few visuals that show basic information. No calculated columns or measures.
Gateway- Recently reinstalled to ensure the latest update didn't go wrong.
Report on service: in the Gateway connection settings it displays
| Extension{"extensionDataSourceKind":"PowerBI","extensionDataSourcePath":"PowerBI"} |
Which is mapped to "PowerBI", something I believe our admin set up?
Issue:
If I open the report in the service a red banner pops up toward the top of the screen that says "This feature is not supported. Please make sure you have installed the latest version of the gateway." We're made sure multiple ways that the gateway is fully updated. If switch the Directquery table to use import instead the report works. (Unfortunately the production data set will be too big for import to be a preferred solution). I'm not sure what's causing this issue?

Hi wintergolem
It could be that you are hitting one of the known limitations if you can read this documentation here: Premium features of dataflows - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

I eliminated the extra tables so that I was using only DirectQuery and no import to avoid that limitation, unfortunately the issue still presists

Hi wintergolem
If that is still the case I would look at maybe logging a support request https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/pro/
