Direct query need access for each users??

hi,

I have created a dashboard with Direct Query using Azure SQL DWH. I have 1000 users who will access this dashboard.

Will it require to give access on AZURE SQL DB to all 1000 users for interacting visuals?

Yes u r correct . without access they can't view the data.

but for on premise SQL DB, access is not required for each users on database if I use direct query.

Ya i agrre with you, but Datawarehouse is different concept in Direct mode.

Have you tested it? As I haven't got a valid SQL DWH database for testing, I am just a little curious about the result.

According to the official documentation here, when you share a dashboard, those you share it with can view it and interact with it, but can't edit it. They can see the same data that you see in the dashboard and reports. And I haven't aware any documentation or article which has mentioned that sharing dashboards for SQL DWH database(Direct Query) is special. So please kindly share the the test result if you have tested it.
