Deployment Pipelines - Error: Workspace includes unsupported items

Unable to deply from DEV workspace to TEST
Data model created and update from pbix. Unknown reason for Unsupported dataset or Unsupported report

image.png

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

As you can see in the message text,

unsupported items will not be deployed.

we have a known bug that we are fixing and will be deployed within 1-2 weeks, that's related to this warning message.

once this is fixed, it will be a more accurate warning (today it is sometimes being shown without a real reason).

if your dataset meets the criteria of a valid dataset, it will be deployed once you click 'continue'.

if it doesn't, it will just fail the deployemnt.

In any way, it will not deploy an unsupported dataset.

Regardles of the root cause for this warning,

it's just a warning. I.e.- you can click 'continue' and the deployment will continue.

You can look for the restrictions here- https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/deployment-pipelines-process#limitations.

Hello @Nimrod_Shalit

When you say the deployment will continue, does that mean the supposed dataset will still be deployed?

This dataset does not fall into criteria of unsupported datasets. Its sources are all sql databases and was previously deployable through dev>test>prod. I do not want to deploy to test and have it override even into prod with warnings of unsupported dataset.
