Hello,
First time posting and newbie Power BI user here.
I have a Sharepoint Excel sheet from which I have created quite a basic report.
A number of the columns are set with a datatype of Text and all looks OK within Power BI desktop, exactly how I want it. The problem happens when I publish the report - it is automatically converting these values to a DateTime format, which I don't want it to do.
I have disabled the Auto datetime within the options but this has not helped..
This is how it is shown in Power BI desktop:
This is the result when published:
I do need to keep the columns as a text value for business reasons (users of the sharepoint doc will need to occasionally input text rather than a date) which is why I chose a text format. I just need the report to publish "like for like".
I feel I must be missing the obvious. Any ideas please?

Self solved this one.
Issue was being caused by the data type in Excel! I knew I was missing the obvious.
