Cross-report drillthrough target report hiding on Power BI App disabled the Drillthrough from source

Hi,

I have a Power source report from which I want to do a cross-report drill through to a Power BI target report.

When I am including both the reports content in the Power BI App and keep the cross-report drill through target report hidden from the audience, it disables the drill through option to show up in the source report. But, when I keep both the source and target reports visible on Power BI App it works fine.

Can we keep the cross-report drill through target report hidden in the Power BI App and still make the drill through work in Power BI App?

Any solutions or any articles from Microsoft explaining this issue will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, @supriyapandey19

As you would expect, if your audience has access to the hidden content, it will be visible.
If you do not enable this option, your audience will not be able to view your hidden reports, including through drill through. You can view the current limitations in the connection documentation below.

Hi, @supriyapandey19

If you hide the target report in the app, then your source report will not be available when using the drill through feature, as shown in the following image:

Of course, you can do this with alternative workarounds. Add the page you want to drill through in the Source report and set Hide:

In the app you can see the hidden page where you can successfully drill through:

Hi,

We need a separate cross-report drill through target report option only for our scenarion.

Do you have any reference document or article from Microsoft which mentions this behaviour of hiding of cross-report drill through target report in app disables the drill through from source report.

Thanks.

Hi, @supriyapandey19

I've found an option that will support your idea of implementing cross-report drill through:

Hi,

Thanks for the solution, but what if we have multiple audiences and don't want to show all of the reports for different audiences. Enabling this option will also give access to the users who should not see a specific set of reports in their audience.
