Create Dataset for Dynamics 365 in power BI service online without using desktop at all

Hi All,

Is there a way to consume data from dataverse (dynamics 365) without using Power BU desktop? I find it strange that you cannot build a connector in Power BI online to cloud data storage like dynamics 365 or Business central? Currently I have create the connection in desktop and then publish it to online.

Thanks

Hi @samantha75

That is how it currently works. I always recommend using Power BI Desktop to create your datasets/reports. This ensures that you always have a working copy locally. If something has to go wrong or someone needs to see the file it is then available locally.
