Converting from Power BI Server user to Service

Hello, I've been using Power BI Report Server (On - Premise) to publish the reports,

As we're growing in report publishing and needing features that are supported in Microsoft service not server, we were planning to move from the server to service but I had some concers about the privacy. how the privacy works and when im publishing the data to microsoft fabric account when buying license and stuff does the Microsoft has access to the data or how does it work?

From where can i read about the policies and information about privacy of my reports?

And our main goal for converting to service to make the real time data connection which we cannot do it in the server, will it affect if I will have a lot of reports that will require to have real time data refreshes or connections?

Read about BYOK. All data is encrypted and Microsoft will only decrypt it if you explicitly ask them to in DLP scenarios.

Your ideas is so great @lbendlin

Hi, @sara_sameer

You can set the privacy level of the connection when you establish a gateway connection in Power BI, and the following privacy levels are common:

You can see how Power BI is implemented when it comes to data security in the schematic below:

As the documentation provided by super user, you can also learn from it how Power BI enables data protection.
As you mentioned, you move your reports to Power BI Service, you need to configure gateway connectivity for your reports to maintain real-time connectivity for your reports.

Your question is a bit too broad. Try narrowing it down a bit.

Data protection in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

When there's connection between report or visual to database, does microsoft has access to view and use my data or not

Read about BYOK. All data is encrypted and Microsoft will only decrypt it if you explicitly ask them to in DLP scenarios.

snowflake encrypted data can we decrypt at power bi level
