Look like something wrong with the network/firewall/VPN as the packages were dropped and hence connection was discrupted. When we moved the gateway into AWS, the problem was solved.

Hi tongnghi
The connection timeout issue during Power BI dashboard refresh via Gateway and AWS Redshift is usually caused by:
- Network Instability: Ensure a reliable internet connection and check for firewall or VPN issues.
- Redshift Overload: Optimize the Redshift cluster, increase resources if needed, and manage workload using Workload Management (WLM).
- Gateway Settings: Keep the gateway updated and adjust timeout settings.
- Slow Queries: Optimize SQL queries, filter data at the source, and enable query folding.
- Large Data Volumes: Use incremental refresh or reduce data pull size.
- AWS Security Groups: Ensure the gateway's IP is allowed in the Redshift security group.
- Concurrent Queries: Avoid running too many queries at once; use Redshift concurrency scaling.
Check gateway logs, optimize queries, and schedule refresh during low activity periods.
