Our ERP is a cloud based solution. We don't have direct access to the database, but the provider has a service were we can connect to a replica of the database that is available online by using a different port (no 1433) and the "ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly" parameter.
In the past we used Reporting Services to connect to that database and it has been working ok. Now, we want to create reports in Power BI. Power BI Desktop allows us to connect to the online database by checking "Enable SQL Server Failover Support". However, when we publish the reports in the Power BI service, the data cannot be refhreshed.
We tried the Data Gateway, but we cannot add the application intent to it, so we cannot create a data source. Is there another way the Power BI service can access that online database and refresh it?
I think the online datasource gives an error because the ApplicationIntent parameters is not passed.
