Connect SQL database to Power BI service

Good morning,

I have a problem.
I created a Power BI report on the Desktop version and I successfully imported my SQL database (to use the data) then I exported my report in Power BI Service (Web) and, in this version, I can't reconnect my SQL server.

When I try to connect my SQl server to Power BI Service, I get this error message:

I need to use the Web version of Power BI to automate the sending and updating of reports, I also need my SQL server because all my data is on it.

How to do it?

Thank you so much.
Evan

  • If your SQL Server database is on premise then you need to use an enterprise gateway. Otherwise the Power BI service has no way to get to your database.

    Hi Nextime ,

Agree with Ibendlin. With gateway installed, you need to manage it in Power BI Service, please kindly refer to
