Change dataset credentials

Hello,

I have a simple direct query report published to a workspace.

The dataset uses a powerbi gateway connection, which has credentials entered, and just works fine.

I wish to change to credentials in the dataset to something else, and not use the gateway connection shared credentials,

but when i go the DataSet > Settings > Gateway source Credentials,

it does not provide the Edit credentials linke anymore, when i can do exactly that.

Why is the Edit credentials link is missing under Gateway source Credentials? (I am admin over gateway, connection, and workspace as well). How can i add it back?

Hi @Arismus 

You need to register the new credentials in the Gateway. For that you will need to add the new source to the Gateway.

Hello @aj1973 the datasource (pbi gateway connection object) is already there with the credentails. Datasource is ready and works. The issue is that i wish to set different credentials at dataset level, and the UI does not show the link to do so. Please read the original post.

Hi @Arismus ,

Go to Power BI service, go to refresh settings of the dataset-> in manage data sources -> select edit credentials for the data source
