Certificate error while refreshing data on Power BI service for connection with Postgresql on AWS
I have been going through a lot of posts but could not find a clear answer to this issue.
We are trying to build new reports and dashboards in Power BI and the data for this is retrieved from a Postgresql server on AWS. When I publish this on Power BI service and try to refresh data it is throwing an error:
Failed to update data source credentials: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.'
There are couple of posts on how to fix this on Power BI Desktop but none of them has a mention of how is this fixed on Power BI Service after it has been published. Is there a way to fix this issue in Power BI Service?

Hi tarunsareen25,
Have you installed the certificate on the Computer account AND the Enterprise Gateway Server? (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/85f2cdbf-f316-40a2-968b-ab823bffc947/security-problem-with-vpn-sstp-error-0x0800b0109?forum=winserversecurity)
And, are both your Power BI Desktop and the Gateway the latest and greatest versions?
I would appreciate Kudos if my response was helpful. I would also appreciate it if you would Mark this As a Solution if it solved the problem. Thanks!

Thanks collinq
Do you need a Gateway for Postgresql DB on AWS?
This works fine on Power BI Desktop, the issue is basically when the data is refreshed on Power BI Service.

I also have the same issue and not getting a proper solution. Whenever people post this issue, everyone reply with the solution for desktop version.
Using Gateway might solve the issue but i don't want to use a gateway for this connection
