Capacity running at 100%
Yesterday I got an email alert that my PBI capacity is running at 100% capacity. What should be my next steps now ?
I would like to learn :-
- How do I see who is contributing max in this capacity ?
- How does its decided that capacity is running at 100% ?
- What do we mean by this 'capacity running at 100% ?
- Its impacts / consequences ?
- How to fix / resolve this ?
- What should be my approach now ? Pros and Cons of approach.
Any relevant inputs will be highly appreciated.

- you see it in the capacity metrics app
- all memory is occupied by datasets, Datasets refuse to be evicted to make space for new datasets. All renderers are busy serving refresh requests
- The impact depending on which capacity you are on. Have you switched to Gen2 yet which has flexible capacity?
Use the metrics app to identify long running queries and work with the developers to reduce the refresh time. Explain to them that they are hogging renderers.
Look at active dataset sizes and see if any of them can be reduced. This might not be easy to do.
Consider adding capacity.
