Can a microsoft user of the organization have two different Power Bi licenses (Pro and premium)?

Im trying to do two different workspace in my organization. One that needs to work with the license mode: Pro, and one that needs to work with the premium per-user. I need it to work like this because some of the reports semantic models exceeds the size of 1 gb and needs to be refreshed every 30 min. What I want to know is "Can a user have more than 1 power bi license, can a user have a pro license and a premium per-user? and can the user publish in either workspace?"

A user with a Premium per-user (PPU) license should be able to publish to premium and non-premium workspaces. Only PPU users can access the PPU workspaces but both Pro and PPU can access non-premium workspaces.

Hi  @carcmena99 ,

If a user has both a Pro and a Premium Per User (PPU) license, the Power BI service uses the PPU license.

The PPU license includes all Power BI Pro license capabilities, and includes features such as XMLA endpoints, AI, and other capabilities only available to Premium subscribers. Therefore, if a user has a PPU license, they don’t need a separate Power BI Pro license.

A Premium Per User (PPU) license is required to access content in a Premium Per User (PPU) workspace or app.

Pro license users cannot access PPU workspace with Premium feature applied.

Best regards.

Hi @carcmena99

The exact answer to your question is simply No. A license is purchased per user and it's either Pro or PPU. Pro is part of the PPU with the advantage of using all premium capacity of the the workspace.

So like @AlexisOlson said only PPU license can access a PPU workspace or consume a report where its semantic model is located.
