Hello -
I am still learning the nuances of the Power BI architecture and seek advice on the following.
I developed my data model and initial set of reports on Power BI Desktop. Upon completion, I published my pbix file to the cloud (BI Service). Then, via the web - BI Service - interface, I made changes to the reports and built a mobile layout. I need to update my data model based on new requirements.
The problem, or perceived problem, is that I will lose my report changes and my mobile layout, that were made via the web interface (BI Service), upon publishing the updates. How can I keep my report changes? How do I avoid losing my mobile layouts?
Thanks

Hi BC00001,
you can download the customized report under the dataset tab. Click the three dots and download.
The changes you made are then included.
hi @Anonymous
First, you should know that you could only modify the model in power bi desktop.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/designer/service-service-vs-desktop
Second, for your case, you could download the report and update the model in power bi desktop, then republish it to servicer again.
By the way, you could also build a mobile layout in power bi desktop too.

Thank you Lin. Yes, I didn't write clearly enough - I know that I can only modify the data model in Desktop.
Thanks to you and rainer1 for sharing the process to getting web updates back to my desktop version. Basically, I download the PBIX file and replace.
Thanks for the quick responses.
