Automatically refresh dataset that failed refreshing on schedule refresh

Hi All,

We have several hundred reports published to the service workspace assigned to the embedded capacity, and all these reports configured with scheduled refresh (all at different time).

Based on the limitations of the capacity, it can't handle a lot of parallel refreshes at once, and some datasets randomly fail refreshing due to timeout - so the reason is not in dataset itself, but in the limitations of the service.

Is there any way to refresh dataset automatically after it failed using cloud solutions (like default Service options or Microsoft Automation service)? We want to avoid using REST API, as it requires some local machine and support, or purchasing another capacity, as it's not aligned with the budget.

    Hi, Anonymous

I only know that Power Automate can automatically refresh the dataset

You may added a new Refresh a dataset action to the Power BI connector for Microsoft Flow.

You can be able to trigger dataset refreshes based on the preset Flow trigger.
