Auto-refreshing a Power BI Report on a TV using Live Connection

Hello Power BI Community,

I'm looking to display a report on a television using the live connection mode. The data source refreshes every 20 seconds, and I would like the report on the TV to refresh at the same interval. The report will be shown via Microsoft Edge browser.

I am searching for a browser extension or a software solution that can auto-refresh the browser view every few seconds, with a preference for setting the refresh interval myself, ideally to match the 20-second data source refresh rate.

Any recommendations or solutions that you could share would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @Kris48

Thanks Ibendlin for the great reply.

I found the following browser extension for Microsoft Edge Page Auto-Refresh that should meet your needs:

Auto Refresh and Page Monitor - Microsoft Edge Addons

If your report can be changed to DirectQuery mode, you can take Ibendlin's suggestion to use Automatic page refresh in Power BI, please refer to the following link:

Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Change the connection to Direct Query and use APR (automatic page refresh).

Or consider using PowerPoint instead, it now has slideshow mode for reports plugins including automatic refresh

Or consider using a dashboard instead, fed from a streaming dataset.
